It finally dawned on me that if I am going to be healthy, and if I’m going to write about staying healthy, I’d better learn how to cook again. –Thus the recent recipe posts. I can talk about studies and healthy eating all I want but words are meaningless without examples of foods that people actually want to cook and eat.
I’d gotten kind of hapless on the feed-yourself skills. It was all I could do to get a basic meal on the table, and every meal was essentially the same – a meat, a carb, and a vegetable. It was healthy enough I guess, but the only way to resist salty, fatty, sugary processed food is to make real food that’s delicious.
So here you go – delicious foods that will keep you healthy and get your weight to a place that you like. And since hardly anyone has time or money these days, the recipes are low cost and efficient. (OK the brownie recipe isn’t “healthy” but gee it’s tasty.)
My cooking is a work in progress. I’m adding spices now (whoa – revelation) and getting a whole lot more efficient. I write about the food I eat.
Our health, weight, and this blog are all built on a series of small steps. YOU next year – Let’s see where we end up!
